Nakajima Atsushi finds himself in dire straits after being expelled from his orphanage, left with neither shelter or food. As he stands by a river, teetering on the edge of starvation, fate intervenes when he saves a man attempting suicide on a whim. This man happens to be Dazai Osamu, accompanied by his partner Kunikida, both belonging to a highly unusual detective agency. Possessing supernatural abilities, they tackle cases deemed too perilous for conventional law enforcement or the military.

Their current mission involves tracking down a mysterious tiger that recently surfaced in the area, coinciding with Atsushi's arrival. It becomes evident that this tiger holds a peculiar connection to Atsushi, and as the case unravels, it becomes clear that Atsushi's destiny will become increasingly entwined with Dazai and the rest of the detectives.
